JFVS welcomes and is grateful for volunteers, which are needed throughout

level. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
Basic Office Support:
- Clerical support
- Food pantry aide
- Librarian
Career and Education Services:
Multicultural Services:
- Tutors (English)
- Mentors (career, business and finance)
- Instructors (career, business and finance)
Klein Older Adult Services:
- Friendly visitors
- Drivers
- Insurance and bill paying assistants
- Phone buddies
- Computer assistants
- Landscaping and home project helpers
As a result of a grant from the Retirement Research Foundation in
Chicago, IL, JFVS has created the JFVS -VIP (Volunteers Investing
in People) program. This program is two fold:
- It is designed to offer seniors, 65 years and older,
ways to remain vibrant and vital participants in our society. Seniors
are encouraged to enroll in this program, which matches them with
a perfect volunteer opportunity which best meets their individual
needs. The professional staff at JFVS, in conjunction with JFVS
Klein Older Services, will conduct an in-depth assessment, in order
to place the senior in a meaningful and beneficial volunteer position.
- Anyone 21 and over who would like to spend time volunteering
with seniors, is encouraged to participate as well. By doing so,they would be able to help seniors get the assistance they would
not otherwise receive.
The opportunities are endless. For more information
or to sign up contact JFVS Volunteer Coordinator Shelley Kahn at (502)
452-6341 ext. 103.
